【性味】 味苦，性凉。

茎呈扁柱形，顶端有穗状花序，茎上部淡黄色，不易拉断，下部淡绿色，表面皱缩有纵纹，具光泽，节处稍膨大，质轻而松软，折断面中空或有白色膜状间隔，放大镜下观察呈蜂窝状。气微，味淡。
