葛根概述
葛根为豆科植物野葛或甘葛藤的块根，秋、冬二季采挖，栽培或野生于山野灌丛和疏林中。野葛多趁鲜切成厚片或小块，干燥，甘葛藤习称“粉葛”，多除去外皮，截段或再纵切两半，干燥。

《本草经疏》记载：“葛根，解散阳明温病热邪主要药也，故主消渴，身大热，热壅胸膈作呕吐。发散而升，风药之性也，故主诸痹。”
葛根性状
【性味】 味甘，辛；性凉
【归经】 归脾，胃经
干燥块根呈长圆柱形，药材多纵切或斜切成板状厚片，长短不等，白色或淡棕色，表面有时可见残存的棕色外皮，切面粗糙，纤维性强；质硬而重，富粉性，并含大量纤维，横断面可见由纤维所形成的同心性环层，纵切片可见纤维性与粉质相间，形成纵纹。无臭，味甘。以块肥大、质坚实、色白、粉性足、纤维性少者为佳；质松、色黄、无粉性、纤维性多者质次。
