独活概述
独活为伞形科植物重齿当归的干燥根，春初苗刚发芽或秋末茎叶枯萎时采挖，除去须根和泥沙，发软后再烘至全干。 生于阴湿山坡，林下草丛中或稀疏灌丛间。
独活各家论述
《本草汇言》记载：“独活，善行血分，祛风行湿散寒之药也。凡病风之证，如头项不能俯仰，腰膝不能屈伸，或痹痛难行，麻木不用，皆风与寒之所致，暑与湿之所伤也；必用独活之苦辛而温，活动气血，祛散寒邪，故《本草》言能散脚气，化奔豚，疗疝瘕，消痈肿，治贼风百节攻痛，定少阴寒郁头疼，意在此矣。”
独活性状
【性味】味苦，辛，性微温。
【归经】归肾、膀胱经。
根略呈圆柱形，下部2～3分枝或更多，根头部膨大，圆锥状，多横皱纹，顶端有茎叶的残基或凹陷，表面灰褐色或棕褐色，具纵皱纹，有横长皮孔样突起及稍突起的细根痕。质较硬，受潮则变软，断面皮部灰白色，有多数散在的棕色油室，
木部灰黄色至黄棕色，形成层环棕色，有特异香气，味苦、辛、微麻舌。
