为豆科植物假地蓝的全草或带根全草。夏季采收，晒干，或切段晒干。
响铃草各家论述
据《草木便方》记载：“补中益气，疗耳鸣，头目昏眩，崩淋。又泻火清热，平肝风，消肿痛。”
响铃草性状
【性味】 味苦、微酸，性寒。
【归经】 归肺经。
干燥全草，茎圆柱形，多弯曲，全体有黄棕色茸毛，带根者，根较长，圆条形，少分枝，须根细长，表面土黄色。叶片多卷曲，或已脱落，展开后呈椭圆形或卵形，黄绿色，有黄棕色茸毛。枝端常带有膨胀呈矩圆形的果实，长2.5-3cm，内有20-30颗种子，摇之有声，如响铃，或种子已散落，种子肾形。气微，味微苦，种子具豆腥气。以完整、少碎断，果实内含种子，摇之如响铃者为佳。
