荷叶概述
荷叶为睡莲科植物莲的叶，又名莲叶。生于水泽、池塘、湖沼或水田内，野生或栽培。6～9月收采，除去叶柄，晒至七、八成干，对折成半四形，晒干。夏季，亦用鲜叶或初生嫩叶（荷钱）。

据《医林纂要》记载：荷叶，功略同于藕及莲心，而多入肝分，平热、去湿，以行清气，以清入肝也。然苦涩之味，实以泻心肝而清金固水，故能去瘀、保精、除妄热、平气血也。
荷叶性状
【性味】 味苦，性平。
【归经】 归肝，脾，胃经。
呈半圆形或折扇形，展开后呈类圆形，全缘或稍呈波状，上表面深绿色或黄绿色，较粗糙；下表面淡灰棕色，较光滑，有粗脉21～22条，自中心向四周射出；中心有突起的叶柄残基。质脆，易破碎。稍有清香气，味微苦。
