翠云草概述
为卷柏科卷柏属植物翠云草，以全草入药，全年可采，鲜用或晒干，生于海拔40-1000m的山谷林下，多腐殖质土壤或溪边阴湿杂草中，以及岩洞内，湿石上或石缝中，性喜温暖湿润的半阴环境。
本品入药始载于《百草镜》，《群芳谱》云：“性好阴，色苍翠可爱，细叶柔茎，重重碎蹩，俨若翠钿。其根遇土便生，见日则消，栽于虎刺、芭蕉、秋海棠下极佳。”
翠云草各家论述
据《全国中草药汇编》记载：“清热利湿，解毒，止血；主黄疸，痢疾，泄泻，水肿，淋病，筋骨痹痛。”
翠云草性状
【性味】 味淡，微苦，性凉。
主茎伏地蔓生，有细纵沟，侧枝疏生并多次分叉，分枝处常生不定根；叶二型，在枝两侧及中间各2行，侧叶卵形，中叶质薄，斜卵状披针形，基部偏斜心形，淡绿色，先端渐尖，边缘全缘或有小齿，嫩叶上面呈翠蓝色；孢子囊穗四棱形，单生于小枝顶端，孢子叶卵圆状三角形，先端长渐尖，龙骨状，4列覆瓦状排列；孢子囊圆肾形，大孢子囊极少，生在囊穗基部，小孢子囊生在囊穗基部以上，孢子二型。
