益智仁概述(温脾 暖肾 固气 涩精)益智，为姜科植物益智的成熟果实。始载于《本草拾遗》，并指出：“益智出昆仑及交趾国，今岭南州群往往有之。”益智仁含挥发油、益智仁酮、维生素B1、维生素B2、维生素C、维生素E及多种氨基酸、脂肪酸等。其水提取物有抑制腹水型肉瘤S180。细胞增长的作用。其水提取物和乙醇提取物有抑制回肠收缩的作用。此外，其甲醇提取物有增强左心房收缩力、抑制氯化钾引起的免主动脉收缩和抑制前列腺素合成酶的活性等作用。

《本草经疏》记载：“益智子仁，以其敛摄，故治遗精虚漏，及小便余沥，此皆肾气不固之证也。肾主纳气，虚则不能纳矣。又主五液，涎乃脾之所统，脾肾气虚，二脏失职，是肾不能纳，脾不能摄，故主气逆上浮，涎秽泛滥而上溢也，敛摄脾肾之气，
则逆气归元，涎秽下行。”
益智仁性状
【性味】 味辛，性温
【归经】 归脾，肾经
干燥果实呈纺锤形或椭圆形，长1.5-2cm，直径1-1.2cm。外皮红棕色至灰棕色，有纵向断续状的隆起线13-18条。皮薄而稍韧，与种子紧贴。
种子集结成团，分3瓣，中有薄膜相隔，每瓣有种子6-11粒。种子呈不规则扁圆形，略有钝棱，直径约3mm，厚约1.5mm，表面灰褐色或灰黄色；种脐位于腹面的中央，微凹陷，自种脐至背面的合点处，有一条沟状种脊；破开后里面为白色，粉性。臭特殊，味辛微苦。
