茜草根概述
为茜草科植物茜草的根及根茎，生于原野、山地的林边、灌丛中，于春、秋采挖，除去茎苗，去净泥土及细须根，晒干。
茜草根各家论述
据《本草经疏》载：“茜根，行血凉血之要药。主痹及疸。疸有五，此其为治，盖指蓄血发黄，而不专于湿热者也。痹者血病，行血软坚，则痹自愈。”
茜草根性状
【性味】 味苦，性寒。
【归经】 入心，肝经。
根茎呈不规则块状，顶端有地上茎残基及细根残留，其下着生数条或数十条支根，支根圆柱形而弯曲，表面棕色或红棕色，有细纵纹，栓皮较易剥落，而露出黄红色本部，质脆易折断，断面平坦，黄红色或淡红色，有多数小孔，气微，味微苦。
