Property
Sweet, astringent, slightly bitter, cold; spleen, stomach, heart and lung meridians entered.
Actions
Clear damp-heat, clear away the heart-fire, stimulate the appetite, induce tranquilization, secure essence and check diarrhea.
Indications
Dysentery with vomiting, poor appetite, spermatorrhea, restlessness, insomnia, morbid leucorrhea, turbid urine.
Dosage and Administrations

别名 石莲、壳莲子、带皮莲子。
为睡莲科植物莲的老熟果实。经霜老熟而带有灰黑色果壳的称为“石莲子”；广布于我国南北各地。10月莲子成熟时，割下莲蓬，取出果实晒干；或拾取落入泥中之莲实，洗净晒干。

石莲子性状
【性味】 味甘，涩，微苦，性寒
【归经】 归脾，胃，心，肺经
果实卵圆状椭圆形，两端略尖，长1.5-2cm，直径0.8-1.3cm。表面灰棕色至黑棕色，平滑，有白色霜粉，先端有圆孔状柱迹或有残留柱基，基部有果柄痕。质坚硬，不易破开，破开后内有1颗种子，卵形，种皮黄棕或红棕色，不易剥离，子叶2枚，淡黄白色，粉性，中心有一暗绿色的莲子心。
