据《本草经疏》记载：“蒲公英，其味甘平，其性无毒。当是入肝入胃，解热凉血之要药。乳痈属肝经，妇人经行后，肝经主事，故主妇人乳痈肿，乳毒并宜，生啖之良。”
蒲公英性状
【性味】 味苦，甘，性寒。
【归经】 归肝，胃经。
干燥的根，略呈圆锥状，弯曲，表面棕褐色，抽皱，根头部有棕色或黄白色的茸毛，或已脱落。叶皱缩成团，完整叶片呈倒披针形，绿褐色或暗灰色，叶背主脉明显，有时有不完整的头状花序。气微，味微苦。
