明党参概述
为伞形科植物明党参的干燥根，4～5月采挖，除去须根，洗净，置沸水中煮至无白心，取出，刮去外皮，漂洗，干燥。
是耐荫植物，怕强光直射，喜疏光，适宜温暖湿润的气候，较能耐寒，怕涝。
野生者常见于山地稀疏灌木林下，土壤肥沃的地方，或石隙及岩石山坡上。
《本草求原》记载：“养血生津，消热解毒。姜汁炒则补气、生肌、托散疮疡。”
明党参各家论述
《四川中药志》记载：“祛风，解热，补肺镇咳。主肺虚咳嗽有痰，头昏目眩，风热目赤及口干。”
明党参性状
【性味】 味甘，微苦，性微寒。
【归经】 归肺，脾，肝经。
呈细长圆柱形、长纺锤形或不规则条块，表面黄白色或淡棕色，光滑或有纵沟纹及须根痕，有的具红棕色斑点。
质硬而脆，断面角质样，皮部较薄，黄白色，有的易与木部剥离，木部类白色。气微，味淡。
