玫瑰茄概述
为锦葵科植物玫瑰茄的共萼。11月中、下旬，叶黄籽黑时，将果枝剪下，摘取花萼连同果实，晒干，待缩水后脱出花萼，置干净草席或竹箩上晒。
其花含有丰富的维生素C，有清凉降火、生津止渴的功效，可以用来冲泡茶和制作饮料，其味酸。玫瑰茄也可以提取玫瑰茄色素，用作食品行业的食品添加剂。
玫瑰茄各家论述
《陕西中草药》记载：“敛肺止咳，降血压，解酒。主肺虚咳嗽，高血压，醉酒。”
玫瑰茄性状
【性味】 味酸，性凉。
【归经】 归肾经。
略呈圆锥状或不规则形，长2.5-4cm，直径约2cm，花萼紫红色至紫黑色，5裂，裂片披针形，下部可见与花萼愈合的小苞片，约10裂，披针形，基部具有去除果实后留下的空洞。花冠黄棕色，外表面有线状条纹，内表面基部黄褐色，偶见稀疏的粗毛。体轻，质脆。气微清香，味酸。
