为芸香科植物九里香和千里香的干燥叶和带叶嫩枝。全年均可采收，除去老枝，阴干。生长于山野，亦有栽培者。
九里香各家论述
据《广西中药志》记载：“行气止痛，活血散瘀。主跌打肿痛，风湿，气痛。”
九里香性状
【性味】 味辛、微苦，性温，有小毒。
【归经】归心、肝、胃经。
嫩枝呈圆柱形，表面灰褐色，具纵皱纹。质坚韧，不易折断，断面不平坦。羽状复叶有小叶3～9片，多已脱落；小叶片呈倒卵形或近菱形，最宽处在中部以上，毙端钝，急尖或凹入，基部略偏斜，全缘；黄绿色，薄革质，上表面有透明腺点，小叶柄短或近无柄，下部有时被柔毛。气香，味苦、辛，有麻舌感。
