为睡莲科植物莲的叶柄及花柄,夏、秋季采收,去叶及莲蓬,晒干或鲜用。

据《本草再新》记载:“通气消暑,泻火清心。”
荷梗性状
【性味】 味微苦,性平。
【归经】 入肝、脾、胃经。
近圆柱形,长40-80cm,直径8-15mm,表面棕黄或黄褐色,有数条深浅不等的纵沟和细小的刺状突起。体轻,质脆,易折断,断面有大小不等的孔道。气微,味淡。
