地榆概述
为蔷薇科植物地榆或长叶地榆的干燥根，后者习称“绵地榆”。
春季将发芽时或秋季植株枯萎后采挖，除去须根，洗净，干燥，或趁鲜切片，干燥。《本草纲目》记载：“月经不止，血崩，漏下赤白，煎醋服。”
地榆各家论述
《本草正义》记载：“地榆苦寒，为凉血之专剂。妇人乳痛带下，多由于肝经郁火不疏，苦寒以清泄之，则肝气疏达，斯痛可已而带可止；然气滞痰凝之乳痛，及气虚不摄之带下，非其治也。止痛除恶肉，皆以外疡言之，血热火盛，则痛而多恶肉，地榆清热凉血，故止疡患作痛，而能除恶肉。”
地榆性状
【性味】 味苦酸，性寒。
【归经】 入肝、大肠经。
呈不规则纺锤形或圆柱形，稍弯曲或扭曲，长5～25cm，直径0.5～2cm。
表面灰褐色、棕褐色或暗紫色，粗糙，有纵皱纹、横裂纹及支根痕。质硬，断面较平坦或皮部有众多的黄白色至黄棕色绵状纤维，部黄色或黄褐色，略呈放射状排列。切片呈不规则圆形或椭圆形，厚0.2～0.5cm；切面紫红色或棕褐色。无臭，味微苦涩。
