The mature fruit of annual herbaceous plant Kochia scoparia (L.) Schrad. of family Chenopodiaceae.

地肤子概述(清热利湿 祛风止痒)
别名 扫帚苗、地葵、地麦
为藜科植物地肤子的干燥成熟果实。秋季果实成熟时采收植株，晒干，打下果实，除去杂质。《本草述》记载：“地肤之味，始微甘而后纯苦，且其气寒，应属清热之剂。每见用之者或假酒力，或不须酒。愚谓清热则酒可不用，如用之起阴达阳，则宜以火酒浸一日夜，于饭上蒸透，晒干以去其寒性，乃为得之。”
地肤子各家论述
《滇南本草》记载：“利膀胱小便积热，洗皮肤之风，疗妇人诸经客热，清利胎热，妇人湿热带下用之良。”
地肤子性状
【性味】 味辛、苦，性寒。
【归经】 归肾、膀胱经。
外观呈扁圆形五角星状，直径1～3毫米，厚约1毫米。外面为宿存花被，膜质，先端5裂，裂片三角形，表面为土灰绿色或浅棕色。顶面中央有柱头残痕，基部有圆点状果柄痕及10条左右放射状的棱线；花被易剥离，内有1粒小坚果，横生，果皮半透明膜质，有点状花纹，亦易剥离，种子褐棕色，扁平，形似芝麻，用放大镜观察，可见表面有点状花纹，中部稍凹，边缘稍隆起，内有马蹄状的胚，淡黄色，油质，胚为乳白色；闻之无气味，口尝微甜而苦。
