槟榔概述(杀虫消积 降气 行水 截疟)
为棕榈科植物槟榔的干燥成熟种子。春末至秋初采收成熟果实，用水煮后，干燥，除去果皮，取出种子，干燥。槟榔原是重要药用植物之一，在南方一些少数民族还有将果实作为一种咀嚼嗜好品 。它是中国四大南药之一（其它三种为益智、砂仁、巴戟），含有人体所需的多种营养元素和有益物质。
槟榔各家论述
《本草正》记载：“槟榔，本草言其破气极速，较枳壳、青皮尤甚。若然，则广南之人朝夕笑噬而无伤，又岂破气极速者。总之，此物性温而辛，故能醒脾利气，味甘兼涩，故能固脾壮气，是诚行中有留之剂，观《鹤林玉露》云，饥能使之饱，饱能使之饥，醉能使之醒，醒能使之醉。于此四句详之，可得其性矣。”
槟榔性状
【性味】 味苦、辛，性温。
【归经】 归胃、大肠经。
呈扁球形或圆锥形，高1.5～3.5cm，底部直径1.5～3cm。表面淡黄棕色或淡红棕色，具稍凹下的网状沟纹，底部中心有圆形凹陷的珠孔，其旁有1明显疤痕状种脐。质坚硬，不易破碎，断面可见棕色种皮与白色胚乳相间的大理石样花纹。气微，味涩、微苦。
