为双子叶植物药伞形科茴芹属植物缺刻叶茴芹的根或全草，夏、秋季采集，洗净，切段，晒干备用或鲜用。
生于海拔600-1700的山坡、林下、河边、灌丛中。
羊红膻各家论述
据《陕西中草药》记载：“祛寒宣肺，祛风解毒，活血散瘀，消肿止痛。”
羊红膻性状
【性味】 味甘，辛，性温。
茎直立，有细条纹，密被短柔毛，基部有残留的叶鞘纤维，上部有数分枝。基生叶和茎下部叶叶柄长5-20cm，叶片轮廓卵状长圆形，一回羽状分裂，小羽片3-5对，卵形至卵状披针形，长2-7cm，宽1-6cm，基部楔形或钝圆，边缘缺刻状齿或近于羽状条裂，表面有稀疏柔毛，背面密被柔毛；茎中部叶叶形与基生叶相似，或为二回羽状分裂，末回裂片线形；茎上部叶较小，叶片羽状分裂，片线形。复伞形花序顶生，无总苞片和小总苞片；伞辐10-25；小伞形花序有花10-25；无萼齿；花瓣倒卵形，白色；花柱基圆锥形，花柱向外反卷。双悬果长卵形，白色；花柱基圆锥形，花柱向外反卷。
