为猕猴桃科猕猴桃属植物镊合猕猴桃，以根入药，夏秋采挖，洗净切片晒干。
生于低山区山谷丛林中。

《浙江民间常用草药》记载：“清热解毒，主痈、疖，白带，脓肿。”
猫人参性状
【性味】 味苦，涩，性凉。
【归经】 归肝经。
根粗长，有少数分枝，表面紫褐色，较光滑，栓皮易成片状剥落，脱落处显白色粉霜；质坚硬，切面皮部棕褐色，较平坦，木质部黄白色，有细密小孔（导管），略呈同心环排列，中央髓细小，颗粒性，黄白色。气微，味微辛、微苦。
