别名 苦菜、苦葵、老鸦眼睛草、天茄子、天茄苗儿、天天茄、救儿草、后红子、水茄、天泡草、老鸦酸浆草、天泡果
为茄科茄属植物龙葵，以全草入药。8-10月采收，鲜用或晒干。
浆果和叶子均可食用，但叶子含有大量生物碱，须经煮熟后方可解毒。

据《本草正义》记载：“龙葵，可服可敷，以清热通利为用，故主跌打血瘀，尤为外科退热消肿之良品也。”
龙葵性状
【性味】 味苦，性寒。
茎圆柱形，多分枝，长30-70cm，直径2-10mm，表面黄绿色，具纵皱纹。质硬而脆，断面黄白色，中空。叶皱缩或破碎，完整者呈卵形或椭圆形，长2-12cm，宽2-6cm，先端锐尖或钝，全缘或有不规则波状锯齿，暗绿色，两面光滑或疏被短柔毛；叶柄长0.3-2.2cm。花、果少见，聚伞花序蝎尾状，腋外生，花4-6朵，花萼棕褐色，花冠棕黄色。浆果球形，黑色或绿色，皱缩。种子多数，棕色，气微味淡。以茎叶色绿、带果者为佳。
