为兰科开唇兰属植物花叶开唇兰和金线兰的全草，6-10月采收，洗净，鲜用或晒干。
生于海拔50-1600米的常绿阔叶林下或沟谷阴湿处。
金线莲各家论述
据《新华本草纲要》记载：“金线兰，味甘、性平，主凉血平肝，清热解毒。”
金线莲性状
【性味】 味甘，性凉。
【归经】 归肺，肝，肾，膀胱经。
根茎较细，节明显，棕褐色。叶上面黑紫色，有金黄色网状脉，下面暗红色，主脉3-7条。
总状花序顶生，花序轴被柔毛，萼片淡紫色。气微，味淡。
