为虎耳草科植物虎耳草的全草。夏季采收，鲜用或晒干备用。
虎耳草各家论述
据《本草纲目》记载：“主瘟疫，擂酒服。生用吐利人，熟用则止吐利。又治聤耳，捣汁滴之。”
虎耳草性状
【性味】 味苦，辛，性寒，有小毒。
【归经】 归肺，脾，大肠经。
全体被毛，单叶，基部丛生，叶柄长，密生长柔毛；叶片圆形至云肾形，肉质，宽4-9cm，边缘浅裂，疏生尖锐齿牙；下面紫赤色，无毛，密生小球形的细点。花白色，上面3瓣较小，卵形，有黄色斑点，下面2瓣较大，披针形，倒垂，形似虎耳，蒴果卵圆形。气微，味微苦。
