芦荟概述
芦荟为百合科植物库拉索芦荟、斑纹芦荟、好望角芦荟的叶，全年可采，割取叶片，收集其流出的液汁，置锅内熬成稠膏，倾入容器，冷却凝固。
芦荟各家论述
据《本草经疏》记载：“芦荟，寒能除热，苦能泄热燥湿，苦能杀虫，至苦至寒，故为除热杀虫之要药。
其主热风烦闷，胸胁间热气，明目，镇心，小儿癫痫，凉风，疗五疳，杀三虫者，热则生风，热能使人烦闷，热除则风热烦闷及胸膈间热气自解。凉肝故明目，除烦故镇心。”
芦荟性状
【性味】 味苦，性寒。
【归经】 归肝，胃，大肠经。
库拉索芦荟：呈不规则块状，常破裂为多角形，大小不一，表面呈暗红褐色或深褐色，无光泽；体轻，质硬，不易破碎，断面粗糙或显麻纹；富吸湿性，有特殊臭气，味极苦。
好望角芦荟：表面呈暗褐色，略显绿色，有光泽。体轻，质松，易碎，断面玻璃样而有层纹。
