The near mature fruits of perennial deciduous arbor plant Prunus mume (Sieb.) Sieb. et Zucc. , of family Rosaceae.

乌梅概述(敛肺 涩肠 生津 安蛔)
为蔷薇科植物梅的干燥近成熟果实经熏焙加工而成。
《本草拾遗》记载：“去痰，主疟瘴，止渴调中，除冷热痢，止吐逆。”
乌梅各家论述
《本草求真》记载：“乌梅，酸涩而温，入肺则收，入肠则涩，入筋与骨则软，入虫则伏，入于死肌、恶肉、恶痣则除，刺入肉中则拔，故于久泻久痢，气逆烦满，反胃骨蒸，无不用其收涩之性，而使下脱上逆皆治。且于痈毒可敷，中风牙关紧闭可开，
蛔虫上攻眩仆可治，口渴可止，宁不为酸涩收敛之一验乎。”
乌梅性状
【性味】 味酸、涩，性平。
【归经】 归肝、脾、肺、大肠经。
核果类球形或扁球形，直径2-3cm。表面棕黑色至乌黑色，皱缩于扩大镜下可见毛茸，基部有圆形果梗痕。果肉柔软或略硬，果核坚硬，椭圆形，棕黄色，表面有凹点，内含卵圆形、淡黄色种子1粒。具焦酸气，味极酸而涩。
