红花概述
为菊科植物红花的花。5～6月当花瓣由黄变红时采摘管状花，晒干、阴干或烘干。
红花各家论述
《本草汇言》记载：“红花，破血、行血、和血、调血之药也。主胎产百病，因血为患，或血烦血晕，神昏不语；或恶露抢心，脐腹绞痛；或沥浆难生，或胞衣不落，是皆临产诸证，非红花不能治。若产后血晕、口噤指搦；或邪入血室，谵语发狂；或血闷内胀，僵仆如死，是皆产后诸证，非红花不能定。又如经闭不通而寒热交作，或过期腹痛而紫黑淋漓，或跌打损伤而气血瘀积，或疮疡痛痒而肿溃不安，是皆气血不和之证，非红花不能调。”
红花性状
【性味】 味辛，性温。
【归经】 归心，肚经。
干燥的管状花，长约1.5厘米，橙红色，花管狭细，先端5裂，裂片狭线形，长5～7毫米，雄蕊5枚，花药黄色，联合成管，高出裂片之外，其中央有柱头露出。具特异香气，味微苦。以花片长、色鲜红、质柔软者为佳。
