川芎概述
为伞形科植物川芎的干燥根茎，夏季当茎上的节盘显着突出，并略带紫色时采挖，除去泥沙，晒后炕干，再去须根。
川芎各家论述
《本草正》记载：“川芎，其性善散，又走肝经，气中之血药也。芎、归俱属血药，而芎之散动尤甚于归，故能散风寒，治头痛。
以其气升，故兼理崩漏眩运，以其甘少，故散则有余，补则不足，惟风寒之头痛，极宜用之。若三阳火壅于上而痛者，得升反甚，今人不明升降，而但知川芎治头痛，谬亦甚矣。”
川芎性状
【性味】 味辛，性温。
【归经】 归肝、胆、心包经。
根茎为不规则结节状拳形团块，表面黄褐色至黄棕色，粗糙皱缩，有多数平行隆起的轮节；顶端有类圆形凹窝状茎痕，下侧及轮节上有多数细小的瘤状根痕。质坚实，不易折断，断面黄白色或灰黄，具波状环纹形成层，全体散有黄棕色油点。香气浓郁而特别，味苦，辛，微回甜，有麻舌感。
