为萝藦科植物通关藤的茎、根或叶，全年可采，刮去外层栓皮，切片晒干。生于海拔2000m以下的疏林。
通光散各家论述
据《云南思茅中草药选》记载：“清热解毒，消炎止痛。主咽喉炎，胃肠积热，肺炎，扁桃体炎，膀胱炎。”
通光散性状
【性味】 味苦，性微寒
【归经】 归肺、肝经
茎扁圆柱形，稍扭曲，表面灰褐色，粗糙，栓皮松软，呈龟裂状，往往部分脱落，节膨大，节间两侧各有一条扭曲的纵沟，幼茎表面有疣状突起或浅裂纹，节处有叶柄及小枝残痕，质硬而韧，难折断，折断面不平整，显纤维性。皮部浅灰色，木部浅黄色，导管众多，呈小孔状，髓部常呈空洞状，气微，味苦、甜。
